Here’s video of Rand Paul endorsing Mitt Romney last night on Sean Hannity’s show in a heavily scripted bit of Republican political theater:
It’s been obvious for a while that the Paul family has been positioning Rand for big things, and this is an important step in that process: It brings Rand together with the mainstream of the Republican Party. After this appearance on Hannity’s show, you can bet Rand is going to be front and center on Fox News now. The big question is whether Ron Paul fans will eat what Rand Paul is serving them. If you go by comments on Ron Paul sites, the answer might be no:
The only way Rand Paul would endorse Romney is if Ron and Rand and their family got scared by death threats… Nothing else makes any sense to me.
I remember when Ross Parot was winning in 92′ and his daughter’s life was threatened, Parot suddenly dropped out..
This whole situation is baffling..
Hopefully we will get a more radical leader now—to punish the establishment and the sell outs.
I’m not voting for either one of them.
Romney said her supports the Patriot Act along with a hundred other things Obama and THE SYSTEM supports. I’m not voting for either one of them.
I never trusted Rand . . .
Beware my liberty loving friends of this dragon in sheep clothes, time to change senator’s in KY . . . He is just a sly politician . . .
I think this endorsement puts a lot of pressure on Romney. He knows that Paul’s peeps will hold his feet to the fire.
And it being a Ron Paul fansite, there are lots of folks who suspect…(cue dramatic music)…a conspiracy:
You all have to chill and realize this is a psych-op. Rand wouldn’t of done this without his dad’s permission and his timing prooves it, being that it was after the primaries.
The main issue at the moment is the economy (which includes ending The Fed) so in order to get these legislations passed they can’t ruffle any feathers. If Mitt does end up winning then the Republicans are the best chance for pushing through the libertarian philosophy because the Democrats are stone cold socialists and won’t bend in these areas.
Rand did this as an appeal to convert Romney delegates before or at the convention.
He’s Ron’s son, he knows what’s important.
His chances of becoming POTUS and implementing real change would be gone if he publicly rejected the nominee.
Rand is playing them(GOP), not the reverse.
