Cory Doctorow is a bit of a modern genius—one of those annoyingly canny humans who's figured out how to turn the future to his own anticipatory ends. He's a science-fiction novelist, a coeditor of Boing Boing, an anticopyright activist, and an all-around lively and entertaining dude. Tonight, Doctorow reads from his latest novel, For the Win (about, among other things, third-world children paid to mine fake gold for first-world World of Warcrafters), after which he will be grilled mercilessly by The Stranger's own Paul Constant. Pillow Army will contribute some rock and roll. It will be good. (Sunset Tavern, 5433 Ballard Ave, 784-4880. 7 pm, $5, 21+.)
