Huh! This is the only "get yourself writing" thing that has ever intrigued me. I can't quite interpret the legalese about "you retain the rights to Content" and "Type Here Enterprises can do x, y, z and a bunch of other letters with your Content," though.

"Alexandria School District 206 is trying to cope with the unexpected death of an 18-year-old student.

Lance Lundsten, a senior at Jefferson High School, died Saturday.

According to preliminary autopsy results that were shared with the family, he died from cardiac edema, a condition caused by an enlarged heart."

Leek: Typetrigger founder here. I am excited that our idea intrigues you.

Oh legalese! Here's our goal: let writers do their thing, use their work as they want. We also want to be able to be able to promote Typetrigger by promoting the work that people create on the site (unless they are in private mode). Should be a win-win, but we wanted to cover our rears. Still tweaking our leagalese, but we want to work in writers favor, not rip them off and profit by selling their work without their permission.

Neat! There was a BBS in Seattle a million
years ago (Abottle BBS?) that did
something similar. Almost all I remember is they
Published some of the result at Bumbershoot
Including something of mine and it was a homebrewish 68000 system. Great fun.

Tried to sign up hours ago. Still waiting for the confirmation email. Site overload?

Type @5: Thanks for your response! That's the impression I got from how stuff sounded, which is why I was confused by the "we can do anything we want with your Content even though you have all the rights to it!" in the legalese. Frankly, the chances I would write something valuable enough to worry about it are slim to none, so participate I shall!

What a great idea! I've joined and already written responses to four prompts.

Please wait...
