With the Taste of Iceland festival, Seattle celebrates its coolest sister city, Reykjavík, through music, art, food, and literature. The Writing Jam is the most joyously collaborative of all the Taste events, bringing together Icelandic writer (and Sugarcubes founder) Bragi Ólafsson with Seattle’s own Karen Finneyfrock. Both Finneyfrock and Ólafsson will be reading fiction featuring characters created by the other writer, and then volunteers from ZAPP (Seattle’s Zine Archive and Publishing Project) will help the audience create new zines based on the work presented by the authors, making this an international orgy of literature.
