A former Facebook employee named Kate Losse is claiming that Dave Eggers has plagiarized large parts of his brand-new novel, The Circle, from her memoir about the early days of Facebook. It’s really kind of a he-said/she-said situation at the moment, although attempts to locate actual plagiarism in the novel have proven fruitless:
50 distinct phrases from finished copy of THE CIRCLE put into Google. Some clauses close to fan fiction, but no matches. Eggers is clean.
