FRONT OF BOOK Letters: A full page, including a smart retort from a reader who has been wronged by The Stranger… Last Days: Didn’t read… NEWS Yet another long article by Josh Feit on the monorail. Does The Stranger believe there is no other subject its readers would be interested in?… SHORT FEATURE A pleasant profile, well written… FEATURE: A package on gambling, solidifying The Stranger‘s promotion of all things immoral and/or unhealthy, from rampant sexual intercourse to drug use to alcohol abuse. This paper obviously has no soul whatsoever… FILM Bradley Steinbacher brilliantly showcases his ineptness both as a critic and a writer yet again.
I believe it’s safe to comment that I am not the only reader who would rather read Sean Nelson’s agonizingly pretentious musings on cinema than muddle through more of Steinbacher’s tripe… BOOKS Didn’t read… ART Just why exactly does The Stranger think it can send its news editor, Josh Feit, to review an art show and have its criticisms taken seriously by the art community?… THEATER Didn’t read… CHOW Min Liao finally writes a critical review, though the choice of a beloved Seattle restaurant as her target is a blatantly obvious choice for the rigorously contrarian Stranger… MUSIC Skimmed/unable to find engaging… ETC. It’s My Party: Didn’t read … Celeb I Saw U: Too gay… I Love TV: Mr. Humphrey is a far better writer whilst pretending to be a prepubescent girl. At least then his usual juvenile blubbering has a proper context… Savage Love: Didn’t read… Obits: Didn’t read.
