FRONT OF BOOK Letters: Didn’t read…. Last Days: Sadly, unavailable at deadline…. NEWS After two promising weeks, The Stranger news staff appears to have once again fallen into a coma…. SHORT FEATURE Despite its dubious topic, an entertaining comic strip by David Schmader…. FEATURE Didn’t read…. THEATER Too gay…. BOOKS Skimmed…. ART Didn’t read…. FOOD Given it is the first week for the paper’s new food writer, Sara Dickerman, I shall withhold judgment until she has found her footing…. MUSIC Evidently desperate to attract readers, The Stranger turns to a certified rock star to pen its lead article in the music section. Can even the glorious Peter Buck not resist The Stranger‘s nefarious charms?… FILM The sight of Sean Nelson’s name appearing twice on the same page should give every Stranger reader immediate pause. The name Charles Mudede appearing at the bottom of that page should send them running for the hills (or, at least, for the Seattle Weekly)…. ETC. In Arts News: Didn’t read…. Nightstand: Didn’t read…. Some Candy Talking: Didn’t read…. Live Wire: Didn’t read…. The Truth: Didn’t read…. Underage: Didn’t read…. Speaker Freak: This is now called “Data Breaker” or some other such nonsense, evidently…. The Score: Didn’t read…. Erasing Hours: Sean Nelson bravely tackles advertisements shown before movies, a topic never ever written/complained about. Not ever. He is completely original. Kudos, Mr. Nelson, for striking a new chord and bringing this previously ignored blight to light…. Savage Love: Unable to muster interest…. I Love TV: Silly, profane, and often hilarious. Mr. Humphrey’s column is the most troubling in the paper…. Control Tower: Didn’t read…. Celebrity I Saw U: Too gay….
