Yo La Tengo are rightly associated with Hoboken through their alliances with WFMU and Maxwell's—including their beloved Hanukkah shows—but they've left their mark on Seattle, too. Aside from decades of concerts, they played the last in-store at Queen Anne's Easy Street Records (it was so crowded that I couldn’t even see the band). They opened with a version of gospel standard "The Last Time," and it couldn't have been more perfect. That space now houses a Chase Bank branch, while Yo La Tengo have just released their 15th album, There's a Riot Going On, a gorgeous excursion into jazz-infused dream pop.
