The legendary performance artist and musician and all-purpose fascination and captivation generator Laurie Anderson has had a strong 2018. Following the release of Landfall, a collaborative album with Kronos Quartet, she also published the book that gave this live event its title. All the Things I Lost in the Flood is billed as “a reading and performance with music visuals and electronics.” Anderson elaborates: “This book is about language in live performances, the difference between spoken and written words; the influence of the audience; the use of first-, second-, and third person voices; metaphor; politics-as-stories; codes; the difference between language in stories, dreams and songs; misunderstandings and new meanings…” Sold!
