Jesus Christ Raku, Macklemore has a whole song talking about white privilege and appropriation of hip hop (Maybe you should check it out, "White Privilege"). Hate the system, but be happy for what seems like a decent guy.
Cool. Carole King is a legend. I've never been a fan of her own records, but as a songwriter she is peerless -- 118 Top 100 hits, going back to 1958, when Paul McCartney was barely out of short pants.
Yay: Carole King, Ryan Lewis & Macklemore's GORGEOUS group wedding, presided over by Queen Latifah..the way the bits of the stage lit up more & more as it progressed..happy lighting swoon. & Madonna..with the cane..oi vey. It was fitting that she'd pop out as she did, to preside over things, in a way. But it is a reminder of how time has flown to see the Material Girl become the Material Older Lady. ;)
& you all may be tired of Macklemore & Lewis..but when Mary Lambert's voice swelled up, & she looked so gorgeous, & then to hear they made that record on their own - well. I was pleased.
I love how Daft Punk never comes out of their helmets. It's like a pair of French Stigs, makin' robot dance music.
Blurred Lines won nothing!
Nay: Ugh Imagine Dragons bores the bejeezus out of me.
The piano w/ Metallica was an interesting idea, & their red laser lights were fun, but they didn't seem as tight as some of the other acts.
fyi: unless I'm mistaken, not one "macklemore and ryan lewis fan" has posted to this thread. one "pearl jam fan" has posted. looks like the "slog fans" are the true fools who comment on grammy nonsense.
But then GEORGE JONES for one second. And Chico Hamilton And the original "Police and Thieves" man, Juinior Murvin. Tony Sheridan! Donald Byrd and Yusef Lateef. And the great, great Phil Everly.
I will always love Daft Punk for bringing Paul Williams on their album. And for selecting him to deliver this last speech for them, really, just a great, great moment.
Will Arnett: It must be wonderful being the smartest person in the room.
Margo Martindale: No, it's awful!

Was slightly better than
Metallica + Lou Reed.
