• Now Open: Holy Mountain Brewing Taproom (1421 Elliott Ave W) in Interbay features 12 taps pouring their "hop-forward, barrel-aged, and yeast-driven ales and lagers." The brewery is also collaborating with Ballard's Delancey for a beer-pairing dinner at the pizza restaurant on February 9.
• The Uncertain Fate of Chili's South Indian Restaurant: You may only have a limited amount of time to eat at Chili's (5002 University Way NE, 412-0874), whose wonderful dosas I wrote about this week (see "Eat Like a Local" on page 55), because their building is being redeveloped into a seven-story apartment building with ground-level commercial space. According to Chili's owner, they will be in their current location for at least the next six months.
Because of the building's uncertain future, most of the businesses on the block have shut down or moved, including Chili's neighbor, Pam's Kitchen, which serves an excellent Trinidadian goat curry wrapped in fried flatbread roti. Lucky for us, Pam's has opened a new lunchtime location in Eastlake (609 Eastlake Ave E, 420-2320), and last week, the Wallyhood blog reported that Pam's will open a new location on 45th Street in Wallingford later this year. Here's hoping Chili's can stay in business, too; its closing would be tragic.

The co-op's decision starkly contrasts the actions of many food industry owners, who successfully advocated for delayed implementation of the minimum wage increase because they feared a quick move would hurt their businesses.
