Hmm, this is kind of depressing.

Understandable, considering that our current leader is a vicious psychotic moron! However, we all must self-care, lots of fighting ahead. I recommend Mikado Teppanyaki Restaurant, in the ID. The owner is very nice; waitstaff is friendly; food is basic, but good; not expensive; green tea is free; you get to watch the chef set your food on fire, and toss shrimps at your mouth. You sit at a big cooking table with others, so there are people to talk to if your date isn't going well. Fun and relaxing. Very clean and spacious also.

Beware, service can be slow, because this is an immigrant family-owned biz, but they do have extra staff for holidays like Valentine's Day. Not many wine choices, but there is sake.

You can tip a concierge five bucks for that? I've been overtipping bad.

Oh, Tobias Coughlin-Bogue,

Serafina is historically over-priced and overrated. The depicted miniature bowl of pasta says it all – An obscene mound of Parmigiano-Reggiano on a scoop of pasta; fresh, hand-made, or not. (WTF?) – whereas the shortbread cookies from Café Pettirosso are positively sublime.

And then thankfully there's Machiaveli's for the rest of us.
