Bar Sue is named after Sue Kerr Hicks, esquire (d. 1980), a prosecutor in the Scopes “Monkey Trial” (wrong side of history, dude) who may have been the inspiration for the Shel Silverstein song “A Boy Named Sue” (which might make up for it). Lore aside, the blackened catfish sandwich is Sue’s main attraction—fresh, firm, a bit muddy (like all good catfish is), and spicy enough to liven up the edges of your mouth.
