• Big news: Manolin was just named one of Bon Appétit ten best new restaurants in the country. “The star of the menu at this dream seafood spot isn’t the daily catch, it’s the seasonal mole—a mysterious sauce with more ingredients than we can remember,” they write. Back in May, we called the Wallingford restaurant—which serves Latin-American-inspired, seafood-focused dishes—”the best kind of beach vacation.”

Chop Shop is now serving breakfast and lunch. According to a press release, breakfast on weekdays (beginning at 8 a.m.) will include a “European-style breakfast buffet complete with housemade preserves and toast, granola and yogurt, fruit, a juice du jour, and Stumptown coffee” ($12) as well as a menu serving dishes such as fried eggs, bone-in ham steak, and mascarpone-stuffed french toast (yum). On weekends, only the breakfast menu will be on offer (starting at 9 a.m.). The lunch menu (four salads, five sandwiches, and a handful of larger plates) will be available everyday at 11 a.m.

• Madrona Eatery and Ale House is going to be replaced with … Madrona Arms, an eatery and pub house. Belfast native Paul Johnson is the proprietor of the new business, which was inspired by London pubs and is aiming for a late-September opening. Here are more details, courtesy of Eater:

He’s going to install warm woodwork (floors, booths, back bar) throughout the 2,800-square-foot space, with seating for about 90. Flat-screens to watch sports (but “it’s not a sports bar”). A full cocktail bar plus craft beers. A menu that goes beyond standard pub fare (soups, burgers, specials.) Early plans call for a late-afternoon happy hour plus dinner, with a late-night happy hour as well.
