Description: An enchanting
Chinese restaurant with a
lightly divey lounge in West Seattle.

Decor: Stained gray carpeting,
festive red lanterns,
plates stacked with lackluster but serviceable-if-you’re-drinking
Chinese appetizers.

Other wonderments: Karaoke galore (nightly, starts around 9
pm).

Karaoke’s sad legacy: Daisuke Inoue, a lowly cover-band
drummer, invented the first karaoke machine, but neglected to obtain a
patent and consequently made little money from his idea. (Some estimate
his lost fortune to be around $150 million.) Following a years-long
plunge into obscurity, he finally emerged as a salesman—his
specialties include detergent and
cockroach repellent.

Happy hours: Daily 2–6 pm.

Happy-hour drink specials: A rotating weekly schedule of
drink discounts, from $1 off Jägermeister drinks (Mon and Sat) to
$1 off Red Hook (Thurs) to $1 off Jameson whiskey drinks (Sun). recommended
