It’s a glorious day for ice cream fiends: Portland artisan ice creamery Salt and Straw finally lands in Ballard today and is certain to inspire lines around the block with its lineup of distinctive and unusual flavor combinations. Not only that, but vegan ice cream shop Frankie & Jo’s and molten chocolate cakery Hot Cakes have announced their flavor collaborations for February, and sought-after pop-up chef Tarik Abdullah spices up ice cream with two flavors for Central District Ice Cream for Black History Month, with a kickoff party tonight to celebrate. Find all of this and more below, and, for more delicious things, check out our guides to where to go for Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras, our food news post from last week, and our complete food & drink calendar. Plus, we’ve also launched a new feature that’s just the thing for a dreary February: a complete list of hygge-AF restaurants and bars with fireplaces.
