THURSDAY NOVEMBER 7
BENT
Remember techno--the American musical art form that feels like it's been kicked to the curb? Well dry your eyes because Aristocrat's is trying to bring the techno party back. With the popularity of electro sounds these days, I hope this night flourishes--otherwise we'll just have to fly our asses to Europe to get our techno fix. W/DJs Terso, Xanen, and iMonk. Aristocrat's, 220 Fourth Ave, 748-9779, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $5.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 8
SELECTION
DJ Doug and his guest are up in Fremont trying to get all of those socks 'n' Teva wearin' hippies worked up into a frenzy with some head-bobbing house music. If you live farther north than Capitol Hill, you might want to swing by this little lounge. ToST, 513 N 36th St, 547-0240, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, free.
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 9
FRESH
Minty magazine and Uniting Souls are throwing a party at Re-bar. Tonight they're bringing in Brazilian native/S.F. resident DJ Adnan, whose deep, tribal vibe has landed him residencies in Rio, São Paulo, Caracas, and S.F. Also on the bill are Oracle Gathering's Michael Manahan, Vegan, and Uniting Souls' Quazar. Re-bar, 1114 Howell St, 233-9873, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $10.
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 10
YO SON!
Yup, this is still one of the most fun hiphop nights in Seattle. FYI: Did you know that in Germany they call hiphop nights "black sound"? Cool huh! Chop Suey, 1325 E Madison St, 324-8000, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $5.
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 12
PLUSH CRUSH
The Deep Down Lounge is in the basement of Temple Billiards in Pioneer Square. They're having local house DJs do their thing in this cozy spot with a wonderful little dance floor. Deep Down Lounge, 126 S Jackson St, 682-3242, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $5.
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 13
ROBO.TRASH w/TOMMIE SUNSHINE
Tommie Sunshine was apparently raised on "equal parts funk, AC/DC, and Farley Jackmaster Funk," and his sound is described as "electro-roller-boogie-techno-disco." He has collaborated with Felix Da Housecat, Adult, Biz, and Chris Bran of Wamdue Project. Also playing is our own Chris Moon. The Baltic Room, 1207 Pine St, 625-4444, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $10.
