THURSDAY AUGUST 14

BENT

In the finest tradition of Germany's Perlon Records, Bruno Pronsato (AKA Bobby Karate) will crank out a live set of suave, glitchy tech-house in anticipation of his party-rockin' EP Read_Me on Orac. ROBO.trash regular Samuel Kirkland and residents Terso and iMonk will spin their own variations on tech-house and electro. Aristocrat's, 220 Fourth Ave S, 748-9779, 10 pm-2 am, $3 before 11 pm, $5 after.

FRIDAY AUGUST 15

BEATS OF THE BAY

The Copasetic crew throws its second Beats of the Bay boat party with San Francisco's Tom Thump on the tables. Thump, who nabbed a spot in URB's most recent "Next 100" feature, has risen to prominence in that city's ultracompetitive club scene with eclectic sets that touch on nu-jazz, drum and bass, dub, hiphop, Latin, and soul, among others. Argosy Cruise, 1101 Alaskan Way, Pier 55, boarding 9:30 pm, lasts until 2 am, 21+, $15 advance, $20 day of event.

SATURDAY AUGUST 16

TABOO

Ryan "DJ Ryno" Lengle and Jon Lee (Downlow Records co-owners) host this weekly after-hours event in Chinatown for serious house heads who are peaking at 2 am, not ready for beddie-bye. Out-of-town ringers regularly appear along with locals. Bring peaceful vibes and an extra shirt. The Standard, 527 S Main St, 322-3333, 2 am-6 am, $10.

ROBO.TRASH

Here's where you can meet Seattle's elite laptop jockeys and witness them twist electro and techno into fascinating new shapes with the click of a mouse. With Jeff Samuel (Trapez, Emoticon, 7th City), DJ Recess (Minty), and sundry residents (Samuel Kirkland, Kris Moon, Randy Jones, Kuri Kondrak, Jerry Abstract ) getting robotic on your asses. Alibi Room, 85 Pike St, 623-3180, 9 pm-2 am, free.

ELECTROCLASH TOUR II

Electroclash's now running on fumes, but scene-franchiser and Mogul Electro boss Larry Tee deserves grudging credit for duping the media for his Warhol's-worth of fame. Too bad this hipster huckster's sonic offerings--mostly stale, blasé electro-disco--stink up the joint like cheap perfume. We hope his female sex-toy mannequins W.I.T. are in on the joke; nonetheless, bring rotten fruit for their performance. Thankfully, locals USE promise to bring euphoric heat with their Daft Punkish slam-bang, arm-raising bacchanal. With DJ Larry Tee, W.I.T., the Fitness, United State of Electronica, and Colby. Chop Suey, 1325 E Madison St, 324-8000, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $10.

MONDAY AUGUST 18
