THURSDAY 5/12

OI, MOCK & TOOF LIVE & DIRECT FROM LONDON, MATE

Trouble (formerly Trouble Dicso) steps up its game with a huge booking: London duo Mock & Toof, who'll be making their live Seattle debut at the monthly disco throw-down. Renowned remixers for the Juan Maclean, Hot Chip, Holy Ghost!, Spectrum, and many others, Mock & Toof create bleepalicious, infectiously melodic disco house that goes for pleasing understatement rather than glitter-banging obviousness. Check out their various 12s on DFA and Tiny Sticks and the 2010 album Tuning Echoes for ample proof of their subtle wiggle-ability. With Atlee and Fucking in the Streets; visuals by Lux Collective. Proceeds benefit Seattle International Cabaret Festival. Fred Wildlife Refuge, 9 pm, $7, 21+.

FRIDAY 5/13

WOLF + LAMB VS. SOUL CLAP'S FIVE-HOUR HOUSE-ATHON

Eight hands on decks for five hours: That's what you get with this Wolf + Lamb vs. Soul Clap tour. These Brooklyn and Boston DJs' combined mixological knowledge can be heard on the recently released DJ-Kicks, in which they spread their wicked taste in deep, loose-limbed, suavely laid-back house over 27 tracks. These dudes specialize in sets that present club music as a cerebrally sensual experience, so bring your A game and some birth control. Chop Suey, 10 pm, $13 adv/ $15 DOS, 21+.

SATURDAY 5/14

STARKEY AND MUX MOOL

Starkey—Philadelphia-based producer Paul Geissinger—has been doing many interesting things with the sound spectrum's lowest frequencies for the last six years or so for labels like Planet Mu and Civil Music. His productions display an exceptional balance among melodic beauty, textural richness, and rhythmic thrust. Starkey's latest releases—two volumes of the Space Traitor EPs—combine original tracks with several remixes, including those by Om Unit, Egyptrixx, Distal, Rudi Zygadlo, and Innerpartysystem. They take bass music to some really odd, orchestral, and spacious places while still keeping the dance floor throbbing. Fellow East Coaster Mux Mool has been racking up impressive releases on the Ghostly International label over the past couple of years. His tracks flamboyantly merge Brainfeeder-esque post-hiphop beat science with IDM's penchant for textural eccentricities. Mux's music is vibrant and funky as hell. With support from outstanding Seattle producers PotatoFinger and Suttikeeree. Chop Suey, 9 pm, $10 adv/$15 DOS, 21+.
