OOOoooOOooooo it’s October, and I have the perfect music to get you in the spooky mood! No more exclamation points. Time to get somber. King Dude (also known as TJ Cowgill, local artist and Actual Pain creator) plays hauntingly wonderful graveyard folk. His voice is eerie and captivating, and the songs have a hard-time/old-time/cholera-time Western feel to them—like an attic séance to summon the dearly and not so dearly departed, and Johnny Cash. This show marks the release of the latest King Dude album, Burning Daylight, which is very spooky and very good. (Barboza, 925 E Pike St, www.thebarboza.com, 8 pm, $10, 21+)
