SUNDAY 3/2

MAMA TAKES A WIZ

Hullooooomosexuals! As I'm sure you've noticed, so-called "Drag Brunches" have recently emerged as a centerpiece, a staple, a cornerstone of gay Seattle life, and HOORAY!—because I just adore them. (Drag queens and Sunday morning boozing seem to go hand-in-hand and are sure to piss off Jesus—which I always appreciate—and let's face it: Bloody Marys are always tastier with a side of boys in dresses.) In light of these facts, you will be thrilled to learn that Mimosas with Mama has again changed up and refreshed its Sunday morning show (Dreamgirls was the last one, you know, and Hairspray before that) and is now featuring an intriguing new musical mashup they are calling The Wicked Wiz of Oz (Dorothy/Diana Ross, Elphaba/Evillene, you see where this is going). As usual, this new offering will feature the talents of Tipsy Rose Lee (Glenda), Mama Tits (Elpheba), Isabella Extynn St. James (Dorothy and Madame Morrible), Disco Vinnie (The Scarecrow), and Fierro. The Unicorn, 1 pm, $15, 21+.

MONDAY 3/3

BEN AND SARAH GIVE YOU RUPAUL

My god, I'm feeling goddamn gay these days. Gayer than usual, even. (Impossible! I know! But true.) Gay as a butterfly bush in an Easter bonnet parade! Gay as a bucket of Balenciaga! Gay as Greg Louganis's polka-dotted G-string! And it's all RuPaul's fault, of course, and I'm willing to bet that you probably feel the same. (Whoever would have imagined? RuPaul! A novelty of the '90s who has somehow risen to rule the whole damn gay world. Incredible.) It's the 'mo-lympics! The gay Super Bowl! It's begun at last! The Drag Race! And Seattle is set to kick ass once again. And that first episode... wowzers. Right? That TWIST! OMGz! RIGHT? I won't give away any spoilers here (I'll be doing that every week on Slog with recaps—keep your eye out), but please take note: Whatever the hell else you do this week, my dear and lovely 'mos, I beg and implore you—get your sassy little asses on down to the Century Ballroom tonight to experience the RuPaul's Drag Race watching party hosted by none other than our dear friend, current competitor, and hometown she-ro BenDeLaCreme herself, as she tiptoes you through the tulips of each thrilling episode with all of the secrets, gossip, and shade you can stomach. With MC Sarah Rudinoff! This is some serious gay history in the making here, RIGHT BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES. You'd be a stone-cold fool to miss it. Century Ballroom, doors at 6:30 pm/show at 9 pm, free, all ages. recommended
