Bad Brains are a black punk band that began in Washington, DC, and boggled, fascinated, and dominated the ’80s underground with their bizarre blend of hardcore thrashing and Rastafarianism. Sometimes they even performed a peaceful reggae tune. Now four very talented members of Seattle’s black rock community have formed Re-Ignition, a Bad Brains tribute band. Om Johari, the former lead singer of Hell’s Belles (the all-female AC/DC tribute band), will be H.R., the otherworldly lead singer of Bad Brains. This is Re-Ignition’s first show. I can’t wait to hear Om scream: “I against, I against, I against I.” (Lo-Fi Performance Gallery, 429 Eastlake Ave E, thelofi.net, 9 pm, $10, 21+)
