On Saturday night, Chelsea Wolfe opened for Eels at the Moore Theater for an evening of stripped-down splendor. I was initially concerned that the bill pairing would be awkward, with Chelsea Wolfe rooted in metal and goth, while Eels tend to favor pop sensibilitiesโ€”but it was all for naught. The stillness and introspection that Wolfe commanded in her set was a well-crafted lead in to Eels, who needed a tamed crowd to appreciate their warm acoustic set. Both acts performed marvelously, and looked fantastic all lit up in lights.
