Life is embarrassing. People are weird. As we exist on this planet we do a whole bunch of stupid shit and every day we try our best to make sure no one finds out about the stupid shit we’ve done. I feel this is especially true with musicโso much of my 20s was spent trying to deny my ska phase, hide my past New Kids on the Block obsession (and the fact that I still listen to their Christmas album every year), and pretend that I don’t think My Chemical Romance were this generation’s best shot at having a Queen. (They fell short, now they’re done, it’s too bad.)
But, man, there’s some really hilarious shit hidden in our pasts. Especially, again, when music’s involved. So let’s let it out!
Here’s mine: In 1995 I went to a Bush concert and I cried when they played “Glycerine.” I CRIED. Real tears.
