Jimpster, “Step By Step” (Suol)

Doc Martin & Tony Hewitt ,”Music From My Soul (Homero Espinosa and Tony 2017 Rework)” (Moulton Music)

Dino Lenny & Doorly, “The Magic Room” (Deep House Amsterdam)

Sterling Void & Paris Brightledge, “It’s All Right” (DJ International)

Crew/label affiliations: Shameless and Yo Yo Yoga

Styles played: “It really depends upon the crowd and time slot. Over the years I’ve explored a multitude of styles besides house/techno, such as breaks, Bmore club, electro, bass music, disco, ghetto-tech, chillout, slo-mo, and of course the classics from back in the ’80s/’90s. Admittedly, I’m obtuse when it comes to Top 40.”

Events organized: “Anything that involves Shameless or Yo Yo Yoga.”

DJing philosophy: “Have fun. If it starts to feel like work, stop doing it. No one’s going to make a living locally playing house/techno. So if it’s not about the money, what is it about? I tend to lean toward art and community. Plus, I love the reciprocal interplay between the dance floor and DJโ€”building trust and then seeing where we can all go together. It’s an incredible honor and privilege to be the one person in the room that gets to choose what everyone else is going to hear. I don’t ever take that for granted. Oh, and never trust a DJ that doesn’t dance.”

Format: “I started off playing vinyl for a number of years, but eventually transitioned to Serato, Traktor, and now USB sticks/CDJs. I like to have options. I also really appreciate having access to a lot music at one time.”

Worst request: “I’ve had my fair share of bad requests like any other DJ, I’m sure, but honestly it rarely happens because I tend to be particular about where I play. Plus, I never do weddings.”

Upcoming events:
Welcome, Robot Overlords – Feb 2 (Vermillion)
Shameless 15 Year Anniversary Party – Feb 16 (undisclosed venue)
Memorial Day Hijinks – May 28 (Monkey Loft)
