In the summer of 2009 in South Park, two women were attacked in their home, two months before they were planning to have a commitment ceremony. One of the women, Teresa Butz, was killed. Her partner, Jennifer Hopper, survived. Tonight, Hopper, a conservatory-trained musician, and Butz’s brother, Tony Award–winning actor Norbert Leo Butz, offer a night of high-spirited music to raise money for a nonprofit created in the aftermath of the attacks. It seeks to help survivors through music therapy, and tonight’s performance, featuring a band of supporters and a surprise special guest, will be its own kind of music therapy.
