PRIDE EVENTS

THURSDAY JUNE 21

Sing your heart out on the Breakroom's stage (1325 E Madison, 860-5155), then puke your guts out on the bathroom floor, with karaoke and two-dollar wells all night long! Sponsored by the Seattle Gay Standard, with proceeds benefiting the Freedom Day Committee, 9 pm, $5.

Mingle with queer commie agitators at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel (3105 Pine St in Everett) for Pride at Work's Out & Organizing Globally labor conference! Discuss the benefits of union membership and domestic partnership benefits, then cruise the sure-to-be-sexy queers with a conscience. More info at www.prideatwork.org. Through Sunday.

Join Radical Women as it presents a screening of Not Just Passing Through, which "celebrates the richness of lesbian experience." Whoo-hoo! New Freeway Hall, 5018 Rainier Ave S, 722-6057, 7:30 pm.

Seattle Men's Chorus performs Sing for the Cure, a new work based on the stories of breast-cancer survivors. A good cry is nothing to be ashamed of. Joining the chorus will be Kristin Chenoweth, star of her own universally-panned, soon-to-be-cancelled NBC sit-com, which is something to be ashamed of. Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St, 628-0888, 8 pm, $9-$49. Through Saturday.

And this really isn't all that gay, but if you and maybe a million other people Roll Your Own Blackout, it could send a message to President Bush, who refused to recognize June as LGBT Pride Month. Don't use electricity between 7-10 pm. (Not impossible, considering it's light outside until 9:30 pm.)

SATURDAY JUNE 23

To paraphrase Kool and, perhaps, the Gang: "Oh yes it's Ladies' Day, and we're feeling gay!" Gay Ladies' Day begins with the Fourth Annual Rainbow Women's Health Fair at the Broadway Market from 9:30 am-5 pm. Smart and nice women of all stripes will gather to share strategies for "Navigating the Health Care System," as well as to partake of "all-day paps and mamms"! Benefits the ass-kicking Seattle Lesbian Cancer Project, 323-6540 for more info.

Then at 5 pm, dykes, dykes, and more dykes gather at Broadway Performance Hall for the fabulous Seattle Dyke March and Rally! March begins at 7 pm, and the rally's keynote speaker is Carmencita Abad, a former garment worker for the Gap, so you might not want to wear the khakis. Info at www.seattledykemarch.com.

SUNDAY JUNE 24

Join the huddled gay masses at the 25th Annual Seattle GLBT March/Parade! Kicking off at 11 am at the corner of Pike and Broadway, the parade will feature Q Patrol captain Jay D'Annunzio and the Lambert House as co-Grand Marshals, as well as $4,000 in prize money awarded to the most creative parade entries. (Actually, the Freedom Day Committee is forcing the winners to give their prize money to nonprofit organizations. Note to FDC: The reason parades give cash prizes for creative floats is so that individuals or groups will spend money on their floats. For the same reason people spend a lot of money on their Halloween costumes, people will spend money on floats if they think they can win that money back in the contest. If giving prizes is better, bigger, more creative floats, then give the goddamn money to the winners and let them decide what to do with it.)

Then head up to Volunteer Park for the festival and rally from 12:30-5:30 pm. Featuring a keynote address by NGLTF Director Lorri Jean, plus the inescapable Seattle Men's Chorus, music, food, and plenty of rainbow merchandise.
