Ugh - no html allowed here now? Here's the correct post:

The user Profile function used to allow you to jump back to one of your comments to easily catch up to the later comments on the same article. Now, it just brings up the article and you have to navigate through from scratch. Also, I liked the comments opening in a new window, rather than navigating away from the article as now.
That can all get fixed, of course. I'm not sure if I miss the dividing section between days or not. I could probably get over that.
That said, there's a lot to like about the new layout. It's definitely prettier. But please fix some of the navigation issues. A lot of stuff was in the old version that made it very convenient.
Hmmmm.... Personal first impression opinion: I liked it when comments were displayed at the bottom of the post. Now it seems they must be opened in a new window. Do not like.
Also, received errors trying to post yesterday. Today again: Error saving comment. (88912)
Marcia MCNutt, chair geoengineering committee of the National Academy of Sciences, on mitigation of climate change through geoengineering : “To use football analogy, it would be similar to a Hail Mary with only 2 seconds on the clock. We hope our quarterback and coaches never put us in that place.”
Sure, the redesign is a pain in the ass and looks like garbage to 50% of mobile users and 100% of laptop/desktop users, but look how BIG the ads and shitty stock photos are now!
Well, everything looks pretty. I wanted to say something positive. After checking mobile slog, I, too, preferred the much easier to use older version of Slog Mobile.
Murderers. The guy was unarmed and running away. No excuse - those officers should be charged with murder. Also, the first round of gunfire (which all apparently missed) is fired at the guy while he is in the middle of a busy intersection with cars waiting at all four approaches. Lucky they didn't kill someone else too.
i don't have a smart phone. i have a stupid mutherfuckin dumb as shit ratchet ass flip phone so whatevs.. but i do miss the the separation in days and dates. itd be nice to have 'thursday' seprated from 'wednesday ' by that usual banner.
1 - overall, it's cleaner, and better. Victory.
2 - I can't see both the article and the comments at the same time. Big time boo.
3 - Comments aren't threaded. Would vastly prefer comment threading so I don't have to wade through two peoples slogwar or scroll upwards all the time to figure out what someone is referring to. Opportunity missed!
Hm, yeah, having the comments at the foot of the article/post was nice, because you could easily open the entire posting in a new tab, and have the whole thing -- post+comments -- in one window, then you could then zip to the top to re-read the content before continuing excoriating your opponent's logical flaws & reading comprehension.
When you click the 'comments' icon, could you create the new page with the original slog posting at the top? Thanks.
Also, the VERY BLUE Name line could stand to be a bit smaller (2-3 point sizes), and probably right-justified. As it is the commenter's name gets in the way of reading the comment.
Your redesign pretty much sucks...and you keep making it worse.
Now comments open up on top of the article, so there's no way to skip between the article and comments via scroll or tab? Terrible.
And I have to scroll through a shitload of ads to see the Most Commented sidebar? Lame.
And you only have a few articles on each page? Amateurish.
And once I comment I have to use the Back arrow to return to content? Is it 1998?
I've been here since Day 1, and recently SLOG was borderline unreadable based upon lack of good content. Now it's unreadable because it's just simply hard to read!
The beloved Firefox GreaseMonkey extension I used to thread posts and hide registered trolls and "Dan's trans- and biphobic!" commenters is now useless. Sigh.
I use a feed reader to read Slog, and click in when I want to see comments. Now I have to load two new pages to do that. My life is basically over.
But seriously, having the article and comments on different tabs will take some getting used to. I didn't realize how much I go back and forth between them.

So BIG!
Not a fan of the redesign so far.
Let's try this AGAIN.
@12, 16:
Is there REALLY anyone here NOT using an ad-blocker on either the full or mobile versions?
