The race for Port—WAKE UP—Commissioner No. 2 features, from left to right: incumbent Courtney Gregoire, 15-time election loser and "capitalist" Goodspaceguy, and John Naubert of the Socialist Workers Party, who says he's a real-deal Marxist and Kshama Sawant is not. E.S.
In the race for Port Commissioner No. 2, incumbent Courtney Gregoire has drawn our wrath for failing to block the deal that brought Shell's Arctic drilling rig to Seattle.
But she's running against Goodspaceguy—who has lost the last 15 times he's tried to run for office—and John Naubert of the Socialist Workers party, who says of Kshama Sawant: "Sawant once in a while will call herself a Marxist. I think it’s misapplied. She’s mostly a populist. I am a Marxist.”
Our endorsements in this and all the other important August 4 primary races come out on July 15. Until then:
