An impeachment resolution was brought forward in the U.S. House today: And quickly killed. 137 Democrats voted along with Republicans to kill the resolution. 95 Dems voted to consider the issue of impeachment. Doesn’t look like we’re ever going to #ITMFA in Pelosi’s House. The articles were brought forth by Representative Al Green of Texas, who said Trump brought the presidency “in contempt, ridicule, disgrace, and disrepute.”
A zinger from Biden: Last week, “the Squad” (I don’t like the term either but I’m afraid it’s here to stay) and Pelosi were feuding. This week, we’re talking about Trump’s bones.
Asked about President Trump’s remark that he doesn’t “have a racist bone in my body,” former Vice President Joe Biden tells ABC News’ @MollyNagle3, “That means he has no bones” https://t.co/1nezlJ8jix pic.twitter.com/8QRiCMf7SC

The Yakima airport will keep up the ICE flights: Reports Seattle Times. ICE started operating out of the airport after they were kicked off Boeing Field by King County Executive Dow Constantine earlier this year. But today the Yakima City Council voted down a proposal to prohibit ICE flights in Yakima. “If they don’t land here, they will land somewhere else,” said Yakima Councilwoman Holly Cousens.
More local ICE news: ICE apparently promised Jose Robles, a man who has taken refuge inside Gethsemane Lutheran Church in downtown Seattle, that it would send him to Northwest Detention Center and not immediately put him on a plane, according to his lawyer. His stay holds through the end of July.

A Disney heiress undercovered the “grim reality” of the “Happiest Place on Earth”: Abigail Disney recently went undercover at her family’s amusement parks and found the working conditions to be less than stellar. A real quote from Disney: “Every single one of these people I talked to were saying, ‘I don’t know how I can maintain this face of joy and warmth when I have to go home and forage for food in other people’s garbage.'” In a 2017 study from Occidental College, two-thirds of Disneyland employees said they couldn’t afford three meals a day.
Trump gave an exclusive to the Daily Mail: Today he told the mega-tabloid that he’s “not unhappy” with this week’s political fight that branded him a racist. “The only thing [Democrats] have, that they can do is, now, play the race card,” he told the Daily Mail. “Which they’ve always done.” He then complained that he’s been subjected to the most aggressive use of the “race card” in the Democrat party’s history.
Flooding in Minneapolis: This probably isn’t going to help the high water levels at the mouth of the Mississippi.

Netflix misses its second-quarter subscriber projections: By a lot. The streaming giant received 2.7 million new subscribers last quarter, substantially missing their 5 million projection, reports Deadline. As a result, Netflix shares fell more than 11 percent. The company blamed its content for the low subscriber increase, not the increasingly competitive streaming industry or Netflix price hikes in the U.S.
Damn: In case you missed the ScarJo drama, it’s funny.

More rocks and rolls: A 5.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the Oregon coast this morning. It happened around 150 miles off the coast, reports KOMO, around where the uh… you know… Cascadia Subduction Zone is… (Please don’t be a foreshock.)
Glad he didn’t get shot: Utahns probably would’ve called the cops on this little guy even if he was an adult. Ever been to a dry county? It’s weird!
Republicans see immigration as an existential threat to America: Claims new data from the Pew Research Center. While a majority of respondents (62%) said that our country’s openness to people from around the world is “essential to who we are as a nation,” a majority of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents (57%) say that if we’re too open we “risk losing our identity as a nation.” Over the past two years, Pew data suggests that Democratic opinion has not changed on this issue. Republicans, however, are increasingly concerned. Looks like all the fear-mongering is working on Trump’s base. Think about if we viewed climate change as an existential threat!
Trump just finished speaking at a rally: You can watch it here if you’re into punishment.
“Lock Her Up” is rebranding: Fuck.
And we have a new chant: When Trump begins attacking Rep. Ilhan Omar, the crowd began shouting, “SEND HER BACK! SEND HER BACK!”

Get your pitchfork, Jon Stewart: Sen. Rand Paul blocked a vote to pass an extension of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund in the U.S. Senate because “we need to address our massive debt in the country,” he said Wednesday. The bill easily passed the House earlier this month but went viral after comedian Jon Stewart scolded House members for not showing up to a subcommittee hearing on the bill (it’s not unusual for House members to miss some subcommittee hearings). Rand stated he is planning on offering an amendment when/if the House bill is brought up again in the Senate “but until then I will object.”
Now’s the time to reach for a ReachNow: The car-rental service will shutter its Seattle and Portland services this week, reports Seattle Times‘s Heidi Groover. They employed around 75 people and cut half the jobs today, reports Puget Sound Business Journal. The company suggested its customers sign up for Car2Go. (I use Car2Go. I’ve used it since 2012. They’re nice!)
Aaaaaaaaand: Here’s Jon Stewart coming in hot. Stewart told Fox News that Rand Paul is trying to “balance the budget on the backs of the 9/11 first responder community.” This will hopefully be the only time I ever end Slog PM with a Fox News clip.
