But at roughly the five-minute mark, Roach began to discuss her preferred method of running meetings and the rules of procedure set by the council.” Roach left the state senate to run for Pierce County Council, where she won a seat in November.
Two Firefighters Hospitalized after Lynnwood Apartment Fire: The fire took place at an apartment building under construction and forced the evacuation of a neighboring apartment building. The firefighters’ injuries were nonlife-threatening.
Man Killed After Trying to Stop Car Prowler: A man believed to be in his 20s was run over and killed after he shot at someone who tried to break into his vehicle at Beaver Lake Park in Sammamish the Seattle Times reports. No arrests have been reported.
State Republicans File Bill to Require Parental Notification for Abortion: Spokane Valley Bundy sympathizer Matt Shea is a sponsor. The bill would require parental notice for minors to get abortions except in cases of medical emergency. The state senate will hold a hearing on the bill today at 10 am, where Planned Parenthood and other pro-choice advocates will oppose the bill.
