She’s baaaaack! The Kentucky sister-wife county clerk who stopped issuing marriage licenses in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize gay marriage has filed for election, the Associated Press reports.
Davis, you may recall, was sued by same-sex couples and subsequently spent five days in jail for refusing to abide by the law. The whole embarrassing debacle didn’t turn anyone str8, but the Kentucky legislature later changed the law so clerks’ names are no longer listed on marriage licenses.
Davis, a thrice-married Republican, will face at least four Democratic challengers, including David Ermold, a homo sinner who was denied a marriage license by Davis herself.
We’ll say this for Davis: the woman has some strong-ass convictions, at least when it comes to her immense distaste of homo love. Unlike most Christians, who only stand up for their back-ass beliefs during Sunday worship or on Facebook, Davis was willing to go to jail for what she believes in. No word on how she feels about other Christian values, like keeping slaves, killing rape survivors, and, of course, never, ever, ever eating shrimp.
