Portlandia fans may be sad to learn about the final curtain of the offbeat comedy show—dynamic duo Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein decided to end their run together (amicably) after eight seasons of poking fun at the quirks of the craftiest, most passive aggressive city in the Pacific Northwest (the first episode of the last season airs this upcoming Thursday).

But, fans of Sleater-Kinney (and Brownstein’s excellent memoir Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl), rejoice! The guitarist, comedian, writer, and all-around Renaissance woman has confirmed that Hulu will be airing the pilot for a show based on the best-selling book about her life.

Search and Destroy is described as “a show about a young woman, a band, and a community learning how to be unafraid of their own noise.”

Brownstein’s funny and charming memoir, Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl, details her early years in a Seattle suburb listening to Bikini Kill, forming Sleater-Kinney with Corin Tucker in Olympia, and eventually adding drummer Janet Weiss to make the formula for Sleater-Kinney’s perfect punk combo. The book even gets into some deeply personal territory: like her breakup with Corin, her mother’s unhealthy relationship with eating, and the moving story of her father’s journey as he comes to terms with his sexuality.

So, obviously, the show is going to be awesome (I’m picturing a Broad City meets Fun Home meets My So-Called Life meets Spinal Tap kind of thing).

But wait…there’s more!

Brownstein recently revealed that a new Sleater-Kinney album is in the works—and that she’s already back in the studio with Corin Tucker and Janet Weiss. But they’re not in any rush: “We’re going to do this very slowly,” Brownstein told Billboard magazine. “It’s an ongoing conversation.”

Carrie, take all the time you need! You seem pretty busy these days.
