This is better than craigslist, right?
This is better than putting an ad on craigslist, right? Union Zero Records

Remember that review of Red Ribbon's "Idiot Orange" that appeared on Slog in late August? Well, the same Seattle rock group is about to release another single from their forthcoming, Randall Dunn-produced album, Dark Party (out September 28 on Union Zero Records), and it's not your typical release in one special way: The cover of "Your Car" cleverly doubles as a for-sale ad for Red Ribbon singer-songwriter Emma Danner's 1999 Honda Accord before her band leaves for tour in early October (see the sleeve above and view the tour itinerary after the jump). If you're interested in buying the car, contact Danner at redribbonbooking@gmail.com.

As for "Your Car" itself, it's the album's most, uh, driving song, powered by drummer Pat Schowe's motorik rhythm, while leaving an icy slipstream of Monika Khot's Numan-esque synth and the eerie, Church-like guitars of Natasha El-Sergany and Danner, as the latter sings, "Temporary we are/I think I will follow you to your car/Let's get away from this place/There's no use in looking back to save, save face/I won't die from loneliness but if I do I'll blame you." It's a breezy tune, yet fraught with conflicted emotions.

Red Ribbon's album-release show happens Sunday, September 30 at Barboza, with Spesh and Great Spiders.
