Current top 5 tracks:

"My 5 favorite tracks to listen to and play for the people, right now, are..."

Soft Cell, "Sex Dwarf" (Some Bizzare/Sire/Vertigo)

Old Time Relijun, "Vampire Victim" (K)

Tuxedomoon, "No Tears" (self-released)

Gil Scott-Heron, "Angel Dust" (Arista)

Marvin Gaye, "Masochistic Beauty" (Columbia)

Crew/label affiliation: "I am in a band called Dyed. Most of us DJ; we are almost like a crew. Otherwise, it's mainly just me."

Styles played: "I have a disco set, an '80s set, a bubblegum and glam set, a garage/punk set, and a 'hang out and drink' set to pull from, I suppose."

Events organized: "I do 'a night' every second Thursday of the month at the Cha Cha Lounge. It's called Party Jail. There are usually bands and DJs playing music for the art-walking and booze-drinking patrons. It's free and nobody's feelings ever get hurt."

DJing philosophy: "My DJ philosophy is, 'If people are going off to a particular track, play that song three times in a row, and then leave.'"

Format: "My preferred format is vinyl. It limits what I am bringing and usually eliminates requests. Plus, you can speed up and slow things down, which is fun to do from time to time."

Worst request: "One time, Lacey Swain and I were DJing the Egg Room (I'm old!) and a party person asked for some R&B or some 'rap.' She said she was trying to help us out. Lacey said, 'This next one will be it,' and she played 'Ace of Spades' by Motörhead and the place went wild with enthusiastic dancing."

Upcoming events:
"Dyed plays on Halloween at the Southgate Roller Rink (no DJing). I am DJing Party Jail at the Cha Cha Lounge on November 8, with live sets by the Knast and Cheap Cassettes."
