Fired Mariner’s staffer says Mariners leadership is racist: There are other issues too, that recently-fired Dr. Lorena Martin leveled against her former bosses. Martin was hired to be the organization’s director of high performance. The position was created for Martin. She was fired after just a year despite signing a three year contract. Martin took to social media to air her grievances and the issues with the organization that she witnessed:

That fire Michael mentioned this morning may have been arson: Michael, of Slog AM acclaim, wrote in this morning’s post that he saw the fire over in Queen Anne on Saturday. An Elks Lodge club went up in flames and there’s an estimated $250,000 worth of damage. The Seattle Police Department are investigating the fire for arson. It appears that someone soaked a wooden pallet in lighter fluid and lit the building on fire, according to the Seattle Times.

California is paying inmates to fight fires: They’re getting paid a whopping $1 an hour. In a fire in the summer, out of 14,000 firefighters, 2,000 were inmates, according to CNBC. This program saves California somewhere between $90 and $100 million a year. This is fucked up.

Oh shit, the Parkland shooter registered to vote as a Republican from jail: Conservatives are upset about it. Specifically, a father of one of the victims in the Parkland shooting thinks that the whole thing is a conspiracy set up by Democrats. He initially went on Fox & Friends, irate because he assumed the shooter registered as a Democrat. He’s still blaming the Dems for the Republican registration—accusing them of trying to swing the election by registering a Republican?—and sticking by his Republican values.

Associated Press calls Arizona Senate race for Democrats:

A group of LGBT migrants in the caravan may have reached the border first: The group allegedly faced discrimination from other migrants in the caravan and split off into their own group. Now, they've reached California ahead of the rest.
