Shooting in Ravenna Park: A man was shot in Ravenna Park this morning in North Seattle. The man had a gunshot wound in his leg. Witnesses say they observed an argument between two men and one pulled out a gun. A potential suspect has been arrested.
Inslee to expand unemployment benefits to furloughed federal workers: Gov. Jay Inslee announced today that he is extending state unemployment benefits to federal workers who are currently working without pay. Inslee's office said the measure will cover "TSA agents, Coast Guard personnel, border patrol agents, food safety inspectors, FBI agents."

Two bills to open up the government failed in the Senate today: There was a Republican proposal that included wall funding and a Democrat proposal that did not include wall funding. Six Republicans voted for the Democrat one. It didn't meet the 60 required votes needed to pass.

In other Michael news: Michael Cohen, Trump's lawyer, was subpoenaed to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee next month. The subpoena is potentially the first of many. Cohen will likely have a busy February before he packs up and ships out to prison for his three-year stay on March 6.
