Beacon Hill native JusMoni (aka Moni Tep) is bringing her dreamy, R&B-inflected tunes back to her home turf. This Sunday’s show at Clock-Out Lounge celebrates her new three-song EP release, Ease & Mercy and another project that is coming out in April.
On 2018โs Sweet to Me, her voiceโsweet and etherealโtransports you to other dimensions on spacey, bass-heavy โLinked In,โ much different from the corporate hellscape that shares the song’s name. I recommend you light some incense before listening.
โGot It on Tapeโ features the one and only Stas THEE Boss, where JusMoniโs voice floats like smoke over tight electric guitar and Stas raps deftly over the retro beat. I’ve actually been bumping this one a lot, listening to it on my walk to workโStas and JusMoni’s voices balance each other well. It’s the perfect track to herald spring.
Off her most recent release Ease & Mercy, “FWB” plays like an underwater R&B fantasy.
JusMoni will be supported by Rell Be Free, a Seattle rapper who is described as a “teaching artist, youth servant, and emcee extraordinaire,” Intylekt on the beats, and Miss Brodway on the turntables. We can expect to hear some new tracks from Rell Be Free soonโat least that’s what I heard.
See you all there!
