There’s been no official announcement, but the Parlor Live Comedy Club in Bellevue seems to have closed permanently.

All of the events currently scheduled for the venue have been cancelled, according to their ticketing websites, including Michael Rapaport (originally scheduled for April 26–27) and Tommy Davidson (originally scheduled for Sept 12–14). The venue’s website still lists the shows as taking place at the Parlor.

So far, two events are set to still take place at alternate venues, including tonight’s Great Love Debate—in an email, the publicist wrote, “Parlor Live just shut down, just told us, we moved it down the escalator to Lucky Strike, there is a huge sign up outside both places, they cant miss it.” Popular Bollywood comedian Vir Das, who was scheduled to perform at the Parlor this weekend, has been rescheduled for May 9 at the Neptune Theatre.

According to comments on a post on the venue’s Facebook page, Monday was their last night open. A Facebook event for the band Nite Wave, who were scheduled to play the venue on Saturday, also has more details about the closure (quoted after the jump):

“Two weeks ago we caught wind from some employees of The Parlor that due to some very top level drama between landlord and tenant that the Parlor was indeed shutting down. It came very unexpectedly and we heard the venue could close anytime between mid-April to late May. Talks were still happening on when Parlor had to be out.

Last Tuesday we connected with Parlor to check in on if our April 20th show would indeed be happening. We were told it was indeed closing and once they had word on the final day they would let us know.

We continued to hear rumors from some employees that 4/15 was their last day and all of the staging and equipment was gone. In the meantime we tried calling , e-mailing and more to at least get confirmation on the date being cancelled and tickets being refunded. We officially have not heard back directly from the Parlor. However through talking to some employees we can confirm that 4/15 is the last day of business for the Parlor.”

In 2015, the Seattle Times reported that the Parlor’s Seattle location also abruptly closed its doors just a little over a year after it opened. The Puget Sound Business Journal reported in July 2016 that the Bellevue location had switched owners and the founding company had filed for bankruptcy.

Emails to the venue for an official comment have so far been unanswered, but we’ll update this post if we hear more about what happened.
