Washington senator might have to trade in a suit for scrubs: State senator Maureen Walsh is the target of a petition with about half a million signatures to make the senator shadow a nurse in a rural hospital for a shift. Walsh made some comments about how nurses in rural hospitals “probably play cards for a considerable part of the day” that have earned the ire of every nurse in the state. Uhh, senator, it’s 2019. If they’re wasting time, it’s not playing cards, it’s looking at dogs on Instagram.

A literal shit show on I-90: A massive spill of human waste across I-90 in Issaquah stopped traffic for hours and backed up cars for almost four miles. Not only that, these people had to sit in traffic with the pungent stench of human shit in the air for over an hour while Department of Transportation trucks used snow plows to clear the road. At least the snow plows are getting used. The driver reportedly fell asleep while driving around 11 a.m. Sunday morning and rolled onto the shoulder. Many people drive to or from Easter church service got stuck, although I don't think this is what Jesus meant when he said, "This is my body."

Brandi Carlile and Dave Grohl did a little busking at Pike Place Market: It was the same place Carlile used to busk before her career took off.

At least 290 are dead in Sri Lanka after Easter Sunday suicide bombing: A coordinated string of suicide bombings at three packed churches and three hotels killed hundreds and left hundreds more injured in one of the worst terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka’s history. A little known Islamic organization, National Thowheeth Jama’ath, is being blamed for the attack despite very little violence of this kind in their history. Among the dead are several foreign nationals, including at least one American.

Trump is suing to block the release of his financial records: The House Oversight Committee issued a subpoena for his tax returns, and that apparently doesn’t sit right with the president. You’d think if it was this much trouble for this long, he’d just release them. But on the other hand, they could be pretty incriminating. Or worse, show he’s not as rich as he claims to be. The court filing blames Democrats for seeking the financial statements to smear Trump politically, which I mean, yes that’s probably true. But they’d also like to reestablish the presidential norm of actually knowing what financial conflicts of interest the executive branch might have.

Elizabeth Warren rolls out a plan to reform college debt and make college free: College debt is one of the most important issues to many young voters because it can be crippling. Warren’s plan would forgive $50,000 in student loans to students from families making less that $100,000 a year. It would also call for a whole lot of money to be thrown at higher education to make two- and four-year public universities free. She says her plan goes even further than Bernie Sanders's 2017 plan. It would all be paid for by taxing the uber rich.

A Nebraska pothole may have been the best medicine: A 59-year-old man was being rushed to the hospital with a heartbeat that was through the roof, getting as high as 200 beats per minute. That’s more than three times a second if you don’t feel like doing math. Along the way, the ambulance hit a pothole and jostled the patient back into a normal cardiac rhythm. It turns out the pothole acted as a giant crash cart, you know those electric shocks you see TV doctors give patients.

For all my Game of Thrones fans out there: Here’s a fun little recap that also shields people who didn’t watch from spoilers.

Now listen here, you $#!%: This week, you'll hear some of my favorite morning music. You know, that mellow, easy-listening music that plays along in the background as you take that first sip of coffee, as you walk around your house in your underwear singing along because your roommate just left for work. It's that music that doesn't make you want to go to bed, but it doesn't exactly get you all riled up either. Here's one of my favorite morning jams.
