Stranded Mount Rainier climbers have been rescued: The four men are all in good condition, according to a news release from Harborview Medical Center. They were attempting to climb the difficult Liberty Ridge route but were stranded after high winds blew away their equipment. Days of rescue attempts were unsuccessful due to those high winds, but the men were somehow able to get themselves “up to where they were on the summit of the mountain,” a Mount Rainier National Park spokesman told the Seattle Times, which allowed them to be successfully rescued this morning. The screenplays are probably being written as I type.

Nicole Brodeur lost her column: Erica C. Barnett has the scoop. The Seattle Times metro columnist has been reassigned to covering “newsmakers” as a general assignments reporter, a spokeswoman for the Times confirmed to Barnett. Apparently “newsmakers” means covering Ronan Farrow and Queer Eye‘s Jonathan Van Ness. Brodeur recently received criticism for racial insensitivity, something she’s been criticized about in the past. The Earth is melting and the DNC doesn’t really care: Today, State Democratic Party Chairs called on the DNC to host a climate change-focused debate with Democratic presidential candidates. “We should have a presidential debate to focus the public on the reality that Democrats can solve this crisis, and to leave future generations a world we can be proud for them to inherit,” said Tina Podlodowski, Chair of the Washington State Democratic Party in a press release. Yesterday, the DNC told Governor Jay Inslee that it would not be holding a climate change-focused Democratic debate like he (and other Democratic candidates) requested. Inslee also said in a statement that the DNC told him “he would not be invited to future debates held by the committee” if he participated in a non-DNC-affiliated debate.

Protestor disrupts Jeff Bezos during a fireside chat on space toys: That’s how I would’ve written GeekWire’s headline, Jeff Bezos explains Amazon’s bet on Project Kuiper satellites — and copes with an onstage protest, but that’s why I work at The Stranger and not GeekWire, a web publication I like and read but am often confused why their framings consistently kowtow to the tech community. Gripes aside, the protestor came from the back of the stage and “got within a few yards of where the world’s richest individual was sitting,” writes GeekWire. She seemed to be talking about chicken farms and asked Bezos to make Amazon more environmentally responsible.

Mrs. Doubtfire musical will have its world premiere at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre: Big theater news. The 5th Avenue Theatre is scheduled to present the world premiere of Mrs. Doubtfire the musical. While the thought of ruining Mrs. Doubtfire the movie hurts me, the musical team has big and talented names attached to it. I’m feeling optimistic. The production will be Broadway-bound after its Seattle run.
