Chez Vel-DuRay is on one of those streets, and on balance I like it. It's mostly nice and peaceful. But I have to say that there are some very self-righteous fitness enthusiasts who don't understand that people live on the street and have to park their cars. We're lucky because we have an alley (through with the mail is delivered) but I've seen cyclists and runners screaming at some of the neighbors for driving their car on their block (which is perfectly legal).

Our mail delivery has been fine, but our mail person walks his route.

The Trump administration seem intent on destroying the Post Office, so I guess this is unsurprising.

Mistral dear, this article has nothing to do with the police. Did you mean to post someplace else? Or are you just being reactionary?

But since you bought it up, it’s almost impossible to get a Seattle police office to respond to non-violent calls even in Non-COVID circumstances. Mostly they just want you to fill out a police report on-line.

God, I feel sorry for Natalie that she has to do these types of stories . . . .

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

People on bikes, walking and a need to put the little truck into reverse are too much to handle though..

@6 Looks like someone didn't read past the first paragraph. Can't say I blame you, this "reporting" stuff isn't nearly as invigorating as the political editorializing that the trolls are constantly bitching about in the comments.

@5 I dunno, I kinda like these weirdly fastidious shoeleather pieces. It does seem a little unfair that it always falls to Natalie to report them out, though; next time they need someone to go knock on doors of hostile PAC donors or whatever they really ought to send Charles instead.
