I don't see why you couldn't melt down all the guns (or fill the barrel with concrete if you feel the need to display Pappy's six-shooter). They are an artificial construct and could be destroyed by humans as we were the ones that created them. Kudzu, no you can't destroy it. Guns, yes you could.
Why? More guns.

“researchers at the University of California, Davis, which has not yet been peer-reviewed, suggested that a spike in gun purchases during the early months of the pandemic was associated with a nearly 8% increase in gun violence from March through May, or 776 additional fatal and nonfatal shooting injuries nationwide. The researchers found that states that had lower levels of violent crime pre-Covid saw a stronger connection between additional gun purchases and more gun violence.”
Also: More police officers died from CoVID19 than we killed in the line of duty 2020-2021.
The house I grew up in is about 200' away from that shooting in Richfield, MN. Weird to see a national news story so close to home. I learned to rollerblade in the basketball courts behind the old school there.
Not surprising that the biggest lightning bolt to stretch over three states would be in the Deep Fried South.

@10 dvs99: Sure, if you want to catch COVID from all of Ron De Santis' proudly unmasked anti-vaxxers to go with your Florida Southern Fried. I sense sarcasm in your comment, however, and believe that this was your point.
@11 Urgutha Forka: I know the feeling. I'm still trying to get over the idea of Navy SEALs doing maneuvers where I used to go camping across the water from my childhood home. Obviously it's no longer a public campsite anymore for anyone living where I did growing up.

Oh, the left-leaning media has recognized an epidemic of crime in this country since January 20, 2017!
America is having a violence wave. Not a crime wave. Homicides are up. Most other crimes are down.

So large chicken-tasting reptiles are falling into people's hands, free for the taking? Mayne Florida really IS the Promised Land.

Good music today!
