Has it really been 15 years since the Dead Baby bike gang’s first ramshackle bicycle race from the Comet Tavern down to Belltown, crashing through the Seafair Torchlight Parade and landing at the old dive-bar version of the Rendezvous? Has it already been three years since I tried to photograph the tall-bike jousting at the race afterparty in Georgetown and a jousting pole landed right in my eye hole, knocking me on my ass and giving me the badassest black eye I’ve ever had? THE ANSWER IS YES TO BOTH. Celebrate 15 years by racing with the Babies, or just go watch and try not to get anything jammed in your eye hole. (Shipwreck Tavern, 4210 SW Admiral Way, www.deadbabybikes.org, registration 5 pm/race 7 pm, $20 to race)

Is there parking at the finish line?
Every single one of these shitbags deserves serious injury.
great. dive bar trashiness. at best. this is what the stranger suggests for a friday night in seattle
I have a suggestion to any and all who poo-poo, don’t get, or generally hate this event.: Move your yuppie ass back to Vermont/silicon valley, or just stay on Queen Anne or Wallyworld where its safe. This isn’t for you, tourist.
