(ART) Oliver Herring’s art resides in the gray area between sculpture, photography, video, and performance. In his Northwest debut at the Frye, Oliver Herring: Taking and Making, all the disciplines refract off one another, creating a playful dialogue between reality and hyper reality. This exhibition is also the first time his life-size self-portrait has been shown: Oliver is made of thousands of fragmented digital chromatic prints covering a polystyrene sculpture. The figure is amazingly life-like. (Frye Art Museum, 704 Terry Ave, 622-9250. 10 am-8 pm, free.)
