(ART & MAYHEM) Tara Thomas, she of the fabulous Sloth paintings, is my favorite clown who paints since John Wayne Gacy. When she isn’t entertaining young and old as Doodlebug the Clown, Thomas renders her skewed vision of American pop-cultural detritus on canvas. For her latest show, Homely, she’s made a slight departure by depicting “semi-sexy ladies in their homes.” The opening party features Connie Merlot’s band Precious Moments and, undoubtedly, plenty of fucked-up mirth.
