This isn't the first time Washington Ensemble Theatre has staged a play without words: Next Tuesday, from 2005, was a day in the life of a sidewalk in front of a brownstone. RoboPop! looks to a future technopolis where humans and robots dance, do battle, and fall in tragic love to a robo-pop soundtrack: the Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, some original scoring by local Brendan Hogan. It's a little bit Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, a little bit Romeo and Juliet, and a little bit Tron. (Washington Ensemble Theatre, 608 19th Ave E, 675-2055. 7:30 pm, $12–$18.)
