This list is from 2017. See our 2018 calendar of Seattle 4/20 events here.

Since Seattle is the unofficial capital of all-demographic-encompassing stoners, of course we have a stacked calendar of events for the most illustrious botanical birthday to smoke out them all, 4/20. We know you're too busy packing a bowl in preparation, so we've compiled all of the weed-related concerts, food events, comedy shows, film screenings, and other events happening on Thursday here. For even more weed events not on 4/20 (including The Dope Show this Friday and the DOPE Cup Washington on Sunday), as well as details on the sold-out Science Night 2: Stoned Science, check out our complete weed calendar.

MUSIC

7. 4/20 Madness: 1920s Jazz Inspired by the Devil's Weed
This musical tribute to the devil's lettuce—conveniently scheduled for 4/20—will feature the Washboard Cutups ("the band you would have heard in the back room of a speakeasy during Prohibition") and the premiere performance of The Good Herb Jazz Band, a tribute to Lu Watters featuring a lineup of local favorites including David Loomis and Ray Skjelbred.
(Columbia City, $10)

8. Dead Prez, Ras Kass, King Leez. DJ Indica Jones
It's been a while since we've had some solidly militant socialist guerrilla hiphop in town, so Dead Prez is coming back around to fix that for us on the high-holiest of days, 4/20.
(Fremont, $15/$20)

9. Outer Space 4:20

(Downtown, $10)

10. Pony 4/20: SSDD, Master Bedroom, GooGoo, DJ Jermaine
Local thrashers SSDD named their band Steal Shit Do Drugs for a reason. We're not advocating that you do drugs with them, we're just saying that you can (since it's 4/20). They'll be supported by Master Bedroom and the geniuses behind Aesthetic Mess, Goo Goo and DJ Jermaine, in this birthday evening for Seattle's favorite herb.
(Capitol Hill, $5)

11. Marmalade

(Pioneer Square)

15. Neon Taco Bell Night
Monica Dimas has transmogrified her already stoner-friendly menu into an even more stoner-friendly Taco Bell knockoff, replete with Doritos nachos and Doritos-shell tacos, and it's available all day. Thursday is also DJ night at Nacho Borracho, so you can get high as a kite, stuff yourself with exquisitely terrible food, and dance yourself into blissful oblivion. TOBIAS COUGHLIN-BOGUE
(Capitol Hill)

PERFORMANCE

16. 4twenty
4twenty will present mini plays and musicals and short films that "examine, celebrate, demystify, and normalize" weed consumption and its effects: "Bromancing the Stone," a play by Joe Derr; "Do Canaries Get High" by Roger Neale; "The Grass is Greening," a musical by Joe Fox and John Paul Sharp; and more.
(Seattle Center, $12.50, through Saturday)

Mike Epps—known for his comedic performances in movies including The Hangover, Friday After Next, and Next Friday—will headline at this cannabis-centered comedy special held in honor of 4/20. He'll be joined by Kate Berlant (who you might have seen on the Netflix original series The Characters) and local comedy hero Emmett Montgomery. The proceeds will benefit Rise Up ("a social impact initiative created by the cannabis brand Marley Natural that promotes Bob Marley's vision of positive social change, environmental sustainability, and social justice") who will in turn give the proceeds to the Minority Cannabis Business Association.

(Downtown, $10)

20. The Gateway Show
One: four comics on top of their mental game will do their sets. Two: these four comics get very, very stoned. Three: you watch the poor bastards attempt to tell more jokes while their brains swim around somewhere in the upper mesosphere. It's kind of like that experiment where they gave spiders THC and watched them make some pretty awful webs.
(Capitol Hill, $20-$25)

21. The Highlarious Comedy Festival
On the most relaxed day of the year (and two days after), enjoy live comedy in its various flavors and incarnations—standup, roast, interactive, DnD-based—with special shows highlighting funny stoners of color and queer and femme tokers. There's also a free open mic night and improv that will rope audience members into the fun. Buy a weekend pass for $50 if you plan to inhale the weekend in one big hit, or individual show tickets for $10.
(Capitol Hill, $10 per show, through Saturday)

SEXY

22. Cannabis and Sex for Beginners
Enhance your sex with weed, or possibly your weed with sex. Learn about "weed lube" and the sexiest strains. The first five arrivers will get a free bottle of massage oil, and everyone gets a glass of complimentary bubbly.

23. Add-a-Ball 6th Annual 4/20 Pinball Tournament
Add-a-Ball is throwing their sixth Annual 4/20 Pinball Tournament (for 21+ year olds only, sorry). Doors and sign-ups start at noon, with "free goat petting and drugs" (they say they're just kidding) from 2pm-4pm. Enter to win a pinball machine, and get a free t-shirt with sign-up.
(Fremont)

FILM

24. The Grateful Dead Movie: 40th Anniversary
Dave Segal aptly wrote, "No band in the history of music has more maniacal, documentation-drunk fans than the Grateful Dead." Celebrate the stoner holiday with some of those fans at this 40th anniversary screening of The Grateful Dead Movie, a 1977 production co-directed by Jerry Garcia and Leon Gast that features live performances from a five-night series at Winterland in San Francisco. You can even quench your documentation thirst with an additional mini-doc about the Dead's famous Barton Hall concert at Cornell.
