In collaboration with Moving Image Preservation of Puget Sound and visual projectionist Torin Kovach, atmospheric music ensemble Postcard from the Badlands will perform music composed exclusively to be paired with MiPOPs-curated archival film footage, which "represent themes of creation, community, conquest, migration, labor, and play" meant to "explore our deeper and often contradictory connections to each other and the natural world." The Ravenna String Quartet will open with modern and classical pieces by Nordic composers.

Local choreographer Ella Mahler will premiere her full-length duet, which the artist describes as "a dance riddled with constant change and absolute togetherness," to kick off Velocity's 2019 Made in Seattle series. The piece will be performed by David Rue and Anna Krupp, with music by Dustin Mahler.

31. Mocha Jean Herrup: Israel / Palestine: An Act of Seeing
Catch this exhibition before it travels to Paris this June. Herrup's photographs testify to their experience in Ramallah, Bil'in, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and elsewhere, meeting with activists, artists, and others. Set up to resemble film strips, their images tell a story of "colonialism, empire, water resources, internationally recognized human rights, and racial capitalism."

Stand-up comic Duane Goad has performed at Funny or Die's Oddball Comedy Festival, the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot, and the Vancouver Comedy Festival. He was also a finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition.

34. Wild Card with Improv Anonymous
This show invites the audience to choose Improv Anonymous's show format for the night.

If the cast of Mean Girls fell down a hole in the ground in curious pursuit of a bespectacled white rabbit, the result might look something like this mashup performance helmed by local drag performers Butch Alice (the queen of tea parties) and Lady Miss Kiki. Angel Baby Kill Kill Kill will take on the role of the Cheshire Cat.

Ellie Belew's High Voltage Women explores the ways in which these women and their allies worked to "change the culture of management abuse" and discrimination.
