    Artist Molly Hashimoto captures nearly 100 Western bird species in quick sketches, pen-and-ink drawings, and detailed block prints. Hear her talk about her encounters with winged creatures, from robins and chickadees to great gray owls and bluebirds.

    Olson, founder of the Office Of Interior Establishing Exterior studio, is interested in "open practice, love, art history as a material, skate videos, Jonas Mekas, humility, John Hughes, Sturtevant, capitalism, Black Mountain College, ego, spirituality, acceptance, and the attempt to resist 'self' all as an attempt to understand awareness isn't something we do, it's what we are."     In the performance art piece The Woman Who Lit the World, choreographer Stina Nyberg tells her Nikola Tesla-related adventures, including the story of how she came to visit Nikola Tesla’s private library in Belgrade; have her photo taken in Tesla’s room at the Hotel New Yorker; get a hug from the boss of the Tesla Science Center on Long Island; try to break into the remaining building of the Adam’s Power Plant in Niagara Falls; and more.

  36. The Shape of Sound
    Scott Lindberg curates this exhibition of modernist and abstract record sleeve design of the 1950s, mainly jazz and classical releases. Twenty different designers are represented.

    The cheerfully sinister family gets the altogether spooky musical treatment courtesy of the Edmonds Driftwood Players.

    Mario Gomez directs this play about a Korean American girl adopted by a white family and her search for identity in her birth country. 

  42. Boy(s) Interrupted
    This solo show written by and starring Michael Dreger traces the artist's journey from childhood to adulthood, punctuated by the men he meets along the way.

  43. Melancholy Play
    In this chamber musical, a woman loses all her friends and lovers when she shifts her personality from persistently melancholy to generally happy. The organizers describe it as "a play where happiness takes the form of confetti and those consumed by depression turn into almonds."

  44. Photos from the Border: Exhibit and Book Launch
    Documentary photographer David W. Lynch has traveled to Mexico three times since late 2018 to photograph the thousands of migrants who have traveled in caravans to seek asylum in the U.S. Check out his work on display and, at the opening reception, flip through his book Before the Border: the Caravan Series, A Work in Progress from the Migration Project.

    Swedish explorer and overall renaissance man Erling Kagge—the first person to summit Mount Everest on foot—will read from his 2017 book Silence: In the Age of Noise, in which he makes a compelling case for the importance of hoofing it.

  56. Knitting in Solidarity with Mass Shooting Survivors
    Knitters are invited to pool their skills to make a quilt-style prayer shawl to send to communities grieving over mass shootings.   62. Sequim Irrigation Festival
    A festival dedicated to irrigation may sound peculiar, but it's the initiation, development, and support of the irrigation ditches that brought water to Sequim's once-dry prairies. They'll celebrate for the 124th year with a royalty pageant, a carnival, a fireworks show, and a grand parade.

    Celebrate galaxies far, far away with family-friendly performer Mikey Mike the Rad Scientist, who will release his new educational song and video "Spaceship Earth."

    Local artists Kataka Corn, Duncan Menzies, Aaron Norman, and Marilyn Vigil-Harris will star in an astrologically inspired cabaret with the following premise: "After 84 years, the rebellious planet Uranus is once more paying a visit to the fertile, abundant sign of Taurus. Uranus likes to create by revolution, and this radical is ready to break down Taurus' door, challenging us to reflect and change the way we relate to the resources around us." 

  86. Splatterhouse Wreckords Presents The Psychobilly Brawl 2019
    Zorch Radio's annual Psychobilly Brawl is a complete free-for-all every year, with guitars shrieking, drums thumping, and high-energy weirdos dancing to the tunes provided by the lineup: Slim Jim Phantom Trio, the Quaranteds, the Lucitones, Hard Fall Hearts, Cigaratz, Raw Dogs, and the Avery Wolves.

    Did the people who created Walmart unintentionally foster the pre-conditions for a Communist society? Frederic Jameson thought so. Leigh Phillips and Michal Rozworski, authors of The People's Republic of Walmart, will clue you in on this line of thinking.
